ATTENTION JUNIORS AND SENIORS

The Writing & Communications Center is accepting applications for paid peer tutor positions for the 2013-2014 academic year.

Position Description

  • Provide individual support to students at all levels of writing competency
  • Attend required tutor training and other professional development activities
  • Assist senior staff with administrative tasks and special projects as needed

Qualifications

A candidate must:

  • Be a junior or senior with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Demonstrate significant writing ability
  • Possess advanced communication skills
  • Be committed to reflection and growth in the practices of peer tutoring

Please submit a 500-word letter explaining why you wish to work in the Writing and Communications Center, resume, transcript, five-page sample of your academic writing and two letters of recommendation (one must come from a Stevens instructor) in a single email to bobby.pelphrey@stevens.edu no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 26. Late applications will not be considered.
