The Stevens, Office of Academic Entrepreneurship, (OAE) is now seeking participants for the 2009 Technogenesis® Summer Scholars Research Program. In this program, undergraduate students engage in research, innovative design, and/or business projects for a period of ten weeks. The work must be conducted on campus under the active supervision of a Stevens faculty member or a member of the research/scientific staff. The program provides a stipend of $3,500 and free on-campus housing to undergraduate students who are selected to participate (selection rate is approximately 50%) in Technogenesis® projects during the summer months. Students will have the opportunity to continue to work on their projects during the following school year if warranted by the faculty advisor (funding is not guaranteed by Technogenesis®). The process is as follows
Review program guidelines for eligibility requirements and list of available topics/projects (areas of work) at website. (We encourage students to identify a topic/project on which they prefer to work). See Technogenesis® Summer Scholarship Guidelines.
Consult a faculty advisor as to the scope and suitability of the topic/project you may wish to undertake while performing university research. The student should also provide the faculty member with a copy of their resume.
Once a suitable project and faculty advisor have been identified, candidates should submit their proposals to the undersigned*. The proposal should include a resume and a two page typed description of the proposed project, written by the student, signed by the faculty advisor and the applicant. The required proposal format is included in the program guidelines. Student proposals can be submitted 9 March – 10 April 2009. The deadline for the receipt of student proposals is 5:00 PM, 10 April 2009.
