How is the HSATM managed?
Howe School Partners participate in the overall management of the HSATM, including selection of programs, through representation on the HSATM Advisory Board and Working Councils.
The Howe School Alliance Advisory Board is comprised of representatives from each of the partner organizations. The Advisory Board meets annually in November and is chaired by the HSATM Director. The Advisory Board approves the annual budget and guides the Working Council that manages the Roundtable meetings and the annual Conference. Working Councils are staffed by partner representatives, thus ensuring that HSATM activities are partner-driven.
Partners also vote on faculty projects to be funded with the HSATM contribution to the Center for Technology Management Research.

HSATM Partner wins 2007 Malcolm Balridge Award
Congratulations to the U.S. Army Armaments Research, Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC), one of the HSATM Partner Organizations, for winning the Malcolm Balridge award in 2007. In a letter written by Dr. Joseph Lannon in 2010 on the occasion of his retirement as ARDEC Technical Director, HSATM is cited as a factor in ARDEC's process of continuous improvement that led to the winning of this and previous awards based upon Baldrige criteria: "Ideas brought back from Alliance Roundtable meetings and Conferences have been used to sharpen our processes in creating and implementing new technology programs. It is no coincidence that ARDEC has won the President's Quality Award twice, the Army's Community of Excellence award twice, and the Baldrige Award - national awards requiring an organization to show continuous improvement in business processes - during the time we have been HSATM members. HSATM provided opportunity upon opportunity to acquire and experiment with new ideas and get feedback from faculty and from other practitioners who had tried similar things in their organizations."
