Welcome

The Indian Undergraduate Association, or IUA as we are often called, promotes Indian culture on the Stevens campus. The Indian Undergraduate Association is a very active member of the Ethnic Student Council. We participate in the annual ESC Unity show and often hold programs in conjunction with other organizations on campus.

IUA organizes two annual cultural festivals. In the fall semester, we organize the Diwali Show to celebrate the Indian Festival of Lights. In the spring semester, we organize the Holi Show to celebrate the Indian Festival of Colors. Apart from giving students taste of exquisite Indian food, these shows also provide students with the opportunity to experience the rich cultural heritage of India. Throughout the semester, IUA also sponsors other events like Chaat Nights, Human Rights Workshops, Bhangra Parties, and Garbas.

This past year, IUA held a mock Indian Wedding Series complete with a henna night, garba, wedding ceremony, and reception.

The Indian Undergraduate Association not only represents India but it also provides the whole South Asian populace a banner to represent themselves and interact with students of other ethnicities. We are looking at a great and energetic year ahead, and look forward to working together with you in making this organization a success.
