Stevens Scholarships
Stevens awards several merit scholarships every year to our most outstanding undergraduate students. You are automatically considered for Stevens merit scholarships when you are admitted; no additional application is needed, with a few exceptions listed below.
Merit scholarships range between $5,000 and full tuition (scholarships may not exceed the cost of tuition). If you receive a Stevens merit scholarship, it may be renewed every year, for a total of eight full-time undergraduate semesters, as long as you meet all of the renewal requirements.
Stevens financial aid is possible in large part due to the generous support of our alumni and friends. During your time at Stevens, you may learn that some or all the financial aid awards you receive are made possible through a named scholarship, established by our donor(s), to support our students. If so, you will be expected to thank the donor(s) for their support. At that time, a member of the Office of Development and Alumni Engagement team will be in touch with further information regarding this process.

What Scholarships Are Offered?
The Ann P. Neupauer Scholarship
The Ann P. Neupauer Scholarship is Stevens’ most prestigious academic honor, established in memory of the late Mrs. Neupauer, a generous benefactor. This scholarship covers full tuition for undergraduate students who are studying engineering, mathematics or computer science and is renewable for up to eight full-time semesters, if recipients maintain satisfactory academic progress and a minimum GPA of 3.2.
The Edwin A. Stevens Scholarship
The Edwin A. Stevens Scholarship is named in honor of the founder of Stevens Institute of Technology. Edwin A. Stevens, an innovator and engineer, passed away in 1868, leaving a bequest of land, construction funds and an endowment with instructions to establish a new institution of higher learning. His wife, Martha Bayard Stevens, played a key role as a trustee, persuading others to focus the funds on creating an engineering college.
The Edwin A. Stevens Scholarship is awarded to students who have demonstrated excellence in high school, as evidenced by their transcripts and recommendations, and innovation and creativity in their pursuits. This scholarship is granted for four years (or eight full-time semesters) of undergraduate study and is renewable, provided recipients maintain satisfactory academic progress.
The Martha Bayard Stevens Scholarship
This scholarship is named for a founding and lifetime trustee of Stevens Institute of Technology. Martha honored her late husband, Edwin A. Stevens’ wishes by establishing Stevens Institute of Technology, a college that reflected her commitment to education, women’s opportunities and social reform. Drawing from her own life experiences, she used her inheritance to support causes like healthy housing, education and the advancement of women.
The Martha Bayard Stevens Scholarship is available to outstanding students pursuing any field of study at Stevens Institute of Technology. It is awarded based on high academic achievement and demonstrated community service and leadership characteristics. This scholarship is granted for four years (or eight full-time semesters) of undergraduate study and is renewable, provided recipients maintain satisfactory academic progress.
The Presidential Achievement Scholarship
The Presidential Achievement Scholarship at Stevens Institute of Technology is a prestigious merit-based scholarship that recognizes students who exemplify outstanding academic excellence through their application. Renewable for up to eight full-time undergraduate semesters, it requires recipients to maintain a minimum GPA of 3.2 and satisfactory academic progress.
Stevens Institute of Technology is dedicated to advancing futures through innovation and technology, preparing students to lead in an ever-evolving world. This scholarship supports high-achieving individuals who will contribute to the institute’s mission of using technology to drive progress and solve global challenges.
The A. James Clark Scholarship
The A. James Clark Scholars Program at Stevens Institute of Technology was made possible thanks to a generous investment by the A. James & Alice B. Clark Foundation to honor the legacy of the late A. James Clark, a noted engineer, philanthropist and founder of the Maryland-based Clark Construction Group LLC, one of the nation’s leading privately-held construction companies. The Clark Scholars Program at Stevens is an invitation-only scholarship program for exceptional students who are traditionally underrepresented in engineering fields and exhibit a passion for making a difference. Invitations will be extended at the time of admission. The program is only available to incoming, full-time, first-year students.
The A. James Clark Scholarship is renewable for up to eight full-time undergraduate semesters, provided the scholar maintains full-time enrollment, satisfactory academic progress, and a minimum GPA of 2.8 while also fulfilling the academic and service requirements of the program. Since eligibility for the Clark Scholars Program includes a financial need component, recipients must submit the FAFSA and the CSS Profile by the established deadlines each year.
Castle Point Grant
The Castle Point Grant provides special financial assistance to full-time undergraduate students who demonstrate significant financial need after all other sources of aid have been applied. To be considered for the grant, students must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the CSS Profile, ensuring they meet the established deadlines. The grant is renewable each year, contingent on continued financial need, satisfactory academic progress, and meeting the FAFSA filing deadlines. The amount of the grant may fluctuate based on changes in a student's financial circumstances. Students must also maintain full-time enrollment and be in good standing with federal student loans to retain the grant. Support for the Castle Point Grant is made possible by the generosity of alumni and donors, and students may be asked to express their gratitude to those who contribute to their aid.
The ROTC Matching Scholarship
Stevens students who receive ROTC scholarships of $7,500 or more will be eligible for an additional supplemental scholarship from Stevens. This supplemental award covers the full difference between the ROTC scholarship (plus any other merit scholarships and grants) and the cost of tuition. The supplemental scholarship is only available during semesters when the student is receiving the ROTC scholarship.
Global Impact Scholarship
Stevens Institute of Technology grants a limited number of Global Impact Scholarships each year to international students who are deeply involved in community service and who exhibit a passion for making a difference. International students who wish to be considered for an institutional scholarship must submit the CSS PROFILE on the College Board website. This scholarship is renewable for up to eight full-time undergraduate semesters, provided recipients maintain satisfactory academic progress.
FIRST Robotics Scholarship
In support of the FIRST mission, Stevens Institute of Technology provides several merit-based scholarships, each worth $6,000 per year, to qualified high school seniors who have participated on a FIRST team during their junior or senior year. These scholarships are available to students intending to pursue degrees in engineering, science, mathematics, or computer science at Stevens Institute of Technology. The scholarships are renewable for up to four years, offering a total of $24,000, provided recipients maintain satisfactory academic progress. To be eligible, students must also meet the standard academic requirements for admission to the university.
Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship
Stevens Institute of Technology offers scholarships to transfer students who are members of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), an internationally recognized honor society for community college students. Eligible students can receive merit-based or need-based awards of up to $5,000 per year, with a limited number of renewable scholarships available for up to four years. To be considered, students must provide proof of PTK membership (such as a membership card or certificate) and meet the eligibility requirements, including a minimum 3.0 GPA and at least 30 credit hours. This scholarship is not eligible for part-time students or those with a previous bachelor's degree.
Stevens Yellow Ribbon Program
To qualify for the Yellow Ribbon Program, the recipient must be a veteran/military-connected student eligible for the post-9/11 GI Bill® benefits. Funding is available for both fall and spring semesters. Once students are approved for the Yellow Ribbon Program during the first semester, Stevens will continue to provide it for each semester that the student qualifies for, as long as the student is making acceptable progress towards their degree, stays enrolled without a break, and has money left in their post-911 GI Bill® benefits.
Faculty and Staff Benefit
The Tuition Remission Program provides a benefit to eligible full-time Stevens faculty, staff and their dependents by waiving tuition costs for courses taken at Stevens. All non-tuition expenses must be paid by the student. Before each term starts, the employee must submit a tuition remission request to the Division of Human Resources via Workday.
Tuition Exchange Scholarship
The Tuition Exchange Program is a scholarship program for dependents of eligible faculty and staff admitted as a first-year student at other member institutions. Eligibility for Tuition Exchange is determined by the export institution (eligible faculty and staff’s home institution). The eligible faculty and staff member whose employment made the dependent eligible for the benefit must fulfill the requirements set forth by their home institution for the tuition exchange benefit to be awarded and/or renewed every year. Eligible faculty and staff members should refer to Human Resources at the home institution if they are considering a change of employment. Tuition Exchange/Tuition Remission recipients may not combine this scholarship with any other institutional aid, including merit-based scholarships and grant awards, regardless of what was awarded first.

Am I Eligible?
To receive a Stevens merit scholarship, you must:
Be an admitted, degree-seeking student at Stevens Institute of Technology.
Be enrolled in a degree program and attending courses full time.
Meet the Satisfactory Academic Progress and specific merit scholarship renewal requirements (if applicable) in order to renew your scholarship if you are a returning student.
What Are the Scholarship Rules?
Only incoming students are considered for Stevens merit scholarships.
Merit scholarships are for tuition only, unless otherwise noted.
Merit scholarships require full-time attendance.
If your Stevens merit scholarship is cancelled or reduced, it will not be automatically reinstated, even if you meet the minimum standards for renewal later.
Your merit scholarship may be renewed for a maximum of eight full-time undergraduate semesters.
In certain circumstances, Stevens awards may be reduced to make room for outside scholarships.
Stevens institutional aid (merit and need-based grants) can only be applied to tuition charges. When you receive an outside scholarship, it’s important to find out if the scholarship pays tuition only or can be used for all components of the cost of attendance (tuition, fees, housing, food, books, etc.). If the outside scholarship must be applied towards tuition only, the sum of institutional aid and external scholarships cannot exceed tuition for the semester or year in which it is offered. If your total does exceed tuition, then your institutional aid (merit and need-based grants) will be reduced to make room for the outside awards. Those external scholarships that are not tuition-specific will be applied towards the cost of attendance, and institutional aid will not be reduced.
