The Department of Systems & Enterprises’ Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Systems Engineering program affords students the opportunity to develop the knowledge necessary to design, operate and maintain cutting-edge systems in an increasingly complex, globally interconnected business and policy environment.
The technical leaders of tomorrow enroll in our program to acquire the multidisciplinary skills and approaches to spearhead systems integration, address life cycle issues and other complexities and stand out in a market where globalization, quality, complexity and productivity are business drivers.
Students can expect a blend of engineering, technology and management training, and proximity to research opportunities through the Systems Engineering Research Center (SERC), a University-Affiliated Research Center (UARC) of the U.S. Department of Defense, and the Center for Complex Systems & Enterprises (CCSE), an interdisciplinary research hub focused on complex enterprise systems in the aerospace and defense, artificial intelligence (AI)/machine learning applications, healthcare and transportation & logistics domains. Graduates obtain positions across industries including aerospace & defense, automotive and healthcare.
Our graduates manage engineering and technology, are able to address systems integration, life cycle issues, and systems thinking at the system and enterprise levels, in a market where globalization, technology, quality, complexity and productivity are the key business drivers. Concentrations are offered in: large-scale cyber-physical systems, embedded cyber-physical systems, space systems and software systems.
Students satisfying the requirement for the Space Systems concentration may alternatively receive an M. Eng. in Space Systems Engineering. Students who, with their advisor’s approval, choose not to complete all of the courses in a single concentration will receive an M.Eng. in Systems Engineering without a specified concentration.
