The Recent Alumni and Current Students Committee (RACS) of the Stevens Alumni Association and the Office of Development & Alumni Engagement invites you to join Rich Williams CERT '19 from Hexaware Technologies as he discusses how to maintain a healthy lifestyle while working in a demanding career as part of the Adulting 101 series.

Rich Williams CERT '19

I am an executive in the data and technology industry, and I am currently Senior Vice President of Data Partnerships for Hexaware, a global IT services company. I have 17 years of consulting experience and prior to Hexaware I worked for Opera Solutions, Accenture, and Tredence, where I led and grew the data engineering business by 20X in 4 years. I am a passionate leader, mentor, and coach to dozens of industry leaders in the world’s top consulting firms and corporations. I’ve had a good career so far, and it continues to get better, thankfully.

But life is about more than our careers. While I was having a lot of success in my career, I was not taking care of my health. I didn’t have good habits in place when I started my consulting career, and the bad habits got me in trouble with my health after almost 15 years of wear and tear. I put on a significant amount of weight and in late 2022, a serious health emergency forced me to reflect on my lifestyle choices. I paused my career and took a 1-year break from work to focus on my health. I have now lost over 100 pounds but more importantly, I have become a healthy person during that time, confident that I can now maintain a high level of fitness even with a demanding career.
