BIOGRAPHY
Amanda Nesheiwat is the Director of Sustainability and Community Outreach for the Hudson County Improvement Authority in New Jersey. She is also the CEO and Founder of Envision Green, LLC, where she partners with local governments to help them achieve their sustainability and climate goals. In her global work, Amanda serves as a United Nations Representative for the Foundation for Post-Conflict Development, contributing to the advancement of the Sustainable Development Goals. She also brings her expertise to academia as an Adjunct Professor at Ramapo College, teaching courses such as World Sustainability and Climate and Society. Amanda’s commitment to environmental advocacy and innovative solutions led to her being appointed by Governor Phil Murphy to the New Jersey Plastics Advisory Council, tasked with addressing plastic waste and improving recycling systems. She is the recipient of numerous awards, including the 2014 United Nations ATOP Peace Award, the North Jersey Young Environmental Innovator Award, and was honored as Woman of the Year in Hudson County in 2018. Additionally, Amanda was recognized as one of the Top 50 Most Influential People in Hudson County. Her impactful work is highlighted in her TEDx Talk titled "How I Became a Change Agent". Amanda holds a Master of Science in Sustainability Management as well as a certificate in Environmental Management from Stevens Institute of Technology and a Certificate in Executive Leadership for Sustainability from Harvard University.
