IT Quackathon

The CIO Advisory Committee and the Division of Information Technology are hosting a Quackathon during the Spring 2025 semester.

What is the Quackathon?

The Quackathon brings elements of a traditional hackathon and innovation expo together. Students will form a team to solve a Stevens centric problem with Microsoft AI technology.

How do I participate in the Quackathon?

We are looking for teams of 3-5 students to solve a Stevens centric problem with Microsoft AI technology. The solution can address a problem associated with Stevens campus life, academics, research, etc... get creative!

Teams will submit a proposal form by the middle of February.

Proposal form coming soon!

Teams will be provided tools to help them solve the problem and do not need to be able to build an AI model from scratch.

Examples of problems and solutions:

  • AI Scraper that compiles all Stevens events (student orgs, campus events, etc.) and can be filtered down by an individual's preferences

  • Class “recommender” that helps students pick classes based upon their interest, previous class schedule, etc.

  • Q&A Bot that takes data from Stevens.edu and provides students with quick and direct answers on how to complete tasks, find information, etc.

10 teams will be selected to participate by the third week of March.

Create and develop your solution starting at the end of March, after the introduction/kick off virtual meeting.

Present your solution at the Quackathon on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, to the panel of judges and audience members.
