IT QuackathonGenerated with Microsoft CopilotThe CIO Advisory Committee and the Division of Information Technology are hosting a Quackathon during the Spring 2025 semester.  

What is the Quackathon? 

The Quackathon brings elements of a traditional hackathon and innovation expo together. Students will form a team to solve a Stevens centric problem with Microsoft AI technology. 

What's the challenge?

Form a team of 2-5 students and tackle a Stevens-centric problem using AI tools provided by Microsoft. Your solution can address campus life, academics, research, or anything related to the Stevens experience. The possibilities are endless—let your imagination soar! 

Why should you participate?   

  • Showcase your creativity and problem-solving skills. 

  • Learn to leverage Microsoft AI technology with a low-code/no-code environment using Microsoft Copilot.

  • Compete for awesome prizes and campus-wide bragging rights. 

  • Open to both undergraduate and graduate students!

How to Join 

  • Step 1: Assemble your team of 2-5 students. 

  • Step 2: Get creative and submit your proposal by Wednesday, February 19, 2025

  • Step 3: Gear up for an unforgettable experience!

Quackathon Day  

Student teams will present to a panel of judges that will be evaluating the solutions based upon the following criteria.  

Stevens faculty, staff, and students are invited to come to the Quackathon to watch the presentations and network with other community members.  

Light refreshments and snacks will be provided.

How will teams be evaluated in the Quackathon? 
A rubric has been created that will score teams based upon the following 

  • Stevens Impact 

  • AI use within the solution 

  • Thoughtfulness of the solution 

Does our idea need to be unique?  
Yes, the uniqueness of the ideas will be considered in the selection of the proposals. We want you to be creative and passionate about your solution! 

Do we need to make full production grade apps or just a prototype? 
A working prototype will be acceptable, a full-grade app is not needed.
