2024 Fee Award Recipient - Jerome W. Brown ’99

The Harold R. Fee 1920 Alumni Achievement Awards recognize and thank alumni who, through their engagement, have helped build a vibrant and supportive alumni community at Stevens.

Jerome Brown ’99 is senior vice president and director of quality for the global architecture and engineering firm HDR. He has been with the firm for 22 years, first as a project engineer / project manager, and later as regional quality director, engineering quality director, and vice president and director of quality, before taking on his current role in 2022. From 2020 to 2023, Brown also served as a member of the HDR Foundation’s board of directors.

During his student years, Brown was active in NSBE, ASME and Tau Beta Pi, serving as the engineering honor society   president in 1999. He earned awards for excellence in fluids, dynamics and thermodynamics. He was part of the Stevens Technical Enrichment Program (STEP), which provided him with additional support and led to lifelong friendships.

Currently, Brown serves on the advisory board of the Charles V. Schaefer, Jr. School of Engineering and Science. He visits Castle Point whenever his schedule allows, and especially enjoys meeting students and reconnecting with old friends.

On receiving the 2024 Harold R. Fee Award, Brown says, “We all owe a duty to give back. I hope to inspire others to get involved. It takes so little to have a big impact!”
