Nicole (Franks) Griggs ’14 is a senior naval architect/marine engineer with Bay Engineering, Inc. (BEI) specializing in developing auxiliary and propulsion systems for the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, and the Great Lakes commercial fleet.

While a student at Stevens, Griggs was active with Alpha Phi Omega and The Stute, and she played violin for the Stevens Orchestra.

When Griggs moved to Wisconsin, she connected with Jessie Wos ’14. The two developed a plan to create a Wisconsin alumni chapter. They were able to locate nearly 70 Stevens alumni living and working in the state and are in regular contact with many of them. “We are spread out across Wisconsin, but we still manage to get together,” she says.

“The 2024 Harold R. Fee Award is such a nice honor. I really enjoy staying connected to my fellow Stevens alumni, especially after moving away from the East Coast. And I hope that my experience shows Stevens students that it is so worth it to stay the course. Even when classes are hard, power through – you will be glad you did!”
