Hoboken Out of the Darkness Walk at Stevens
Since 2017, Stevens has partnered annually with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to host the Hoboken community Out of the Darkness Walk. The goal of the walk is to inspire hope, foster awareness, and raise funds to support AFSP in their bold goal to drastically reduce the nation’s annual suicide rate. The 2024 walk at Stevens raised over $60,000 towards suicide prevention research, education and advocacy. New Jersey Higher Education Mental Health Summit
Launched in 2024, Stevens has played a prominent role in the establishment and continuation of an annual mental health in higher education summit for New Jersey institute of higher education. The mission of the summit is to gather leaders and front-line practitioners from colleges and universities across the state for a one-day conference to share best practices and to learn from one another about what is working in the field and on our campuses to best support our students.
