Finance and Investing 1-Week Intensive Virtual Bootcamp

The Stevens School of Business is offering a one-week intensive boot camp, where high school students will take a deep dive into the world of finance and investment, gaining hands-on experience with tools used by top financial professionals. The program simulates the experience of a professional portfolio manager. Throughout the week, students will learn the fundamentals of investing, including equity analysis, risk assessment, and portfolio diversification. This program provides an excellent foundation for those considering a future finance or investment management career.

  • Portfolio Management - Utilizing the S&P Capital IQ academic platform, you will learn to create backrest and manage actual and simulated portfolios of assets. You will learn to utilize this professional platform to gather data, analyze company performance, and apply portfolio optimization techniques to maximize returns while minimizing risks.

  • S&P Certifications - You will work towards earning S&P certificates such as Capital IQ Pro 101, and Pro 201, Banking 101, and Ratings Direct® 101. This will provide you with a competitive edge in your future academic and career pursuits, equipping you with fundamental skills in financial analytics, market data, and investment principles.

  • Daily Breakout Sessions – Teaching assistants will guide and mentor you through practical exercises twice a day after lectures are conducted.

  • Rising juniors and seniors entering the fall 2025 academic year

Program Format:

  • Duration: July 7 – July 11, 2025

  • Format: Virtual, synchronous format, with both lectures and practical exercises

  • Tuition: $1500.00

By the end of the program, you will not only have gained hands-on experience in constructing and managing a stock portfolio but also developed a deeper understanding of financial markets, risk management, and data-driven decision-making.
