Nadege Napoleon, MA
Nadege Napoleon is a second-year doctoral student pursuing a Psy.D. in Counseling Psychology at Felician University. Alongside her academic pursuits, she serves as a crisis worker and community resource advocate within a county-based integrated healthcare system. Nadege's personal experiences with adversity and post-traumatic growth have fueled her dedication to mental health treatment and psychoeducation. Her professional interests include working with marginalized communities, particularly immigrants with dual identities, women with complex trauma, and individuals who are incarcerated or homeless. In 2010, Nadege founded a women’s support group, which continues to facilitate weekly meetings addressing issues related to spirituality, personal development, and healing. Nadege has consistently contributed to the academic and community spheres through various workshops, seminars, and group activities. With the support of the NJPA Foundation Grant for Community Service, she provides academic and career counseling to high-risk undergraduate students on academic probation at Felician University. Her approach emphasizes the importance of addressing individuals holistically—mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically.
Her prior experience includes working for acute hospital psychiatric units, intensive case management services, in-home therapy services, residential group home management, youth mentorship, community support, volunteering at the Jersey Shore Rescue Mission, Luther Haven, Lunch Break, Trinity Warming Center, Community Karma, and serving as a board member for the Monmouth County Homeless System Collaborative. This diverse background has equipped her with a broad range of skills and insights into various aspects of mental health and community support. Nadege has effectively utilized evidence-based approaches combined with organizational and industrial psychological methods to foster healing and empowerment. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, ministering at her church, traveling internationally, relaxing at the beach, exploring new restaurants, watching films, indulging in reality love shows, attending concerts and theater productions, and baking her favorite desserts.
