Our first event will focus on AI in Construction and how this emerging technology can fundamentally change project risk identification and management.

  • Learn about the latest developments and best practices from Stevens researchers and industry experts, including the nPLan and HC Constructors

  • Network opportunities to discuss collaboration and potential performance improvements that new technologies can bring

  • Keynote address by Tony Bazzini, a 1981 Stevens University alumnus and former Chief Project Management Engineer at ExxonMobil

Anthony Bazzini.Anthony Bazzini '81
Former Manager, Project Management Division, ExxonMobil Research and Engineering


Anthony (Tony) Bazzini, Manager of the Project Management Division of ExxonMobil Research and Engineering, received his B.E. in mechanical engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ. He has held multiple positions within ExxonMobil throughout his career and worked on a multitude of projects all over the world including the Exxon Valdez recovery efforts in Valdez, Alaska.

Co-Founder and CEO, nPlan


Dev is a chartered engineer and the Co-Founder and CEO of nPlan, an AI company that forecasts the outcomes and risks of construction projects using data from over 750,000 previous projects. nPlan helps projects worldwide plan, assure, de-risk and deliver on time and budget.

Dev’s experience includes delivering construction projects for Shell spanning three continents over nine years. Following this, Dev worked for the UK Prime Minister (Theresa May) to launch and deliver the national strategy on AI in 2017.

Dev is passionate about changing the way projects are delivered through data-enabled decision-making. nPlan now forecasts over $300b of projects each month and has processed schedules representing over $2T of construction spend, the largest dataset of its kind in the world.

Liza Pope has over 25 years of experience in the construction industry, focused on heavy civil sector such as underground utilities, sitework, and concrete.

Liza earned her degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Hawaii. She spent the early part of her career working on Federal and municipal projects throughout Hawaii. Throughout her career has served in the role of Project Engineer, Project Manager, Lead Estimator, and Director of Operations. In her current role as Executive Vice President of Pre-Construction, Liza is responsible for project estimating, project management, contract negotiations, and client relations serving industrial, public sector, higher education, health care, energy, and pharmaceutical industries. She is passionate about mentoring and developing others and utilizing her diverse technical knowledge of construction practices and procedures to find innovative and efficient ways to address challenges.

Liza currently serves as President for the Professional Women in Construction - NJ (PWCNJ) organization. This organization a passionate group dedicated to fostering empowerment, equality, and support for women in the architectural, engineering and construction fields. Liza is also involved in several industry organizations such as Utility Transportation Contractors Association (UTCA) and the Associated Construction Contractors of NJ (ACCNJ). She also serves as PWCNJ Co-Chairperson of the Scholarship Committee, Co-Chairperson of the UTCA Scholarship Committee, Steering Committee Member for the Princeton Women in Construction Summit and participates with the ACCNJ Construction Industry Advancement Program.
