About
Cancer stem-like cells are thought to be responsible for tumor development, progression and cancer relapse. The Perekatt lab seeks to answer the prevailing question as to why cancer stem-like cells evolve and persist. To this end, the lab uses a mutant mouse model in which tumorigenesis can be monitored in the intestine. The lab also uses organoids (in 3D cultures) derived from these mice to investigate the molecular pathways responsible for generation of cancer stem-like cells.
