Research

My research interests lie at the intersection of computational chemistry, bioinformatics, and education. In May 2024, I earned a Master of Science in Computer Science, significantly expanding my expertise in AI and machine learning. I am now actively working to integrate these technologies into the MS in Chemistry curriculum, with the goal of equipping students with essential tools for modern scientific research and industry. In Summer 2024, I supervised an undergraduate research project exploring the AlphaFold algorithm for protein structure prediction. This work enhanced our understanding of protein folding dynamics and has meaningful implications for drug design and biotechnology chemistry. It also supported the student’s development and reinforced our department’s commitment to undergraduate research and mentorship.

General Information

As a Senior Lecturer at Stevens Institute of Technology, I am primarily responsible for coordinating and teaching multiple sections of General Chemistry Laboratory I and II, serving approximately 800–900 students annually. I continuously work to improve the curriculum by integrating new instructional technologies and incorporating current research findings. My teaching emphasizes active learning, problem-based approaches, and strategies that enhance student engagement and comprehension. Through ongoing professional development, I remain committed to advancing the quality of education and contributing to our department's growing reputation as a center of innovation and excellence in scientific education and research.

Experience

With extensive experience in curriculum development and laboratory instruction, I have led efforts to modernize the General Chemistry Laboratory courses at Stevens by introducing structured inquiry-based labs, real-time data collection tools, and online components. These innovations not only improve learning outcomes but also ensure continuity and engagement in large-enrollment courses. I have also played an active role in mentoring students and supporting departmental initiatives to integrate advanced technologies and interdisciplinary approaches into both teaching and research.
