Transferring In to Stevens
Students currently in the U.S. in F-1 status who have been admitted to a full-time program at Stevens Institute of Technology are eligible to transfer their SEVIS Record to Stevens if:
They are an enrolled student in valid F-1 student status at another U.S. SEVIS-approved school.
They are currently in F-1 student status on OPT (Post-completion or STEM) and/or are in their grace period following the completion of their study or OPT.
Their program at Stevens will begin within five months or less after the completion of the program at their current school or the end date of the OPT period, or within 5 months of a transfer release date of their SEVIS record, whichever is earlier.
In addition to providing the documents listed above under "Initial Attendance", an F-1 student transferring to Stevens must also upload the following via their online admission Application Status page:
Transfer-in Request Form: you must contact an International Advisor at your current school to complete this form. The International Advisor will establish your eligibility for transferring out and the date on which they will transfer your SEVIS Record to Stevens.
Copy of your F-1 visa.
Copy of your I-94 arrival record (can be downloaded on the I-94 Website).
Copt of your most recent I-20 from your current school.
Please note:
Stevens' school code is listed on the Transfer-in Request Form under "Part II".
Your I-20 cannot be issued until your SEVIS record has been released by your transfer-out school to Stevens.
If you are returning from abroad after your transfer date, you will need to have Stevens' I-20 with you at the U.S. Port of Entry.
