Applying for the Form I-20

The Form I-20, or “Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant (F-1) Student,” is the U.S. immigration document issued by universities required to apply for the F-1 visa at a U.S. consulate or ambassy abroad. It certifies that the student has met admission and regulatory requirements for their program of study and has provided sufficient proof of funds to finance their program.


I-20 Processing Timelines:

Fall Semester Start Admits: Stevens begins processing I-20s for Fall admits mid-February.
Spring Semester Start Admits: Stevens begins processing I-20s for Spring admits mid-September.
Documents will be reviewed in the order they are received from the Office of Graduate Admissions.

Requesting the Form I-20

Once students confirm admission, to receive a Form I-20 from Stevens' students must provide the following documents by uploading them via their online admission Application Status page. Please note the current processing time is a minimum of 10 business days from submission of a complete application, depending on the volume of I-20 requests received from the Office of Graduate Admissions.
